Luxury Gym And Lifestyle Brand, Workshop Opens Debut Paris Outpost

Luxury gym and lifestyle brand, Workshop is known for its next-level tailored fitness plans and plush locations around the world, after all, they are housed within 5-star Bvlgari Hotels from Bali to Beijing. And now, founder Lee Mullins has introduced his brand to Paris. Parfait!

Workshop’s debut outpost in France, and 7th location worldwide, you’ll find this deluxe gym situated at 30 Avenue George V, set within the Triangle D’or a.k.a Golden Triangle, where there’s fashion houses, boutiques and famous landmarks aplenty (cue the Champs-Élysées). It was only natural then, with its tailored offering, and discerning clientele, that this upscale gym would be located in the chic 8th arrondissement of Paris.

Mullins tells us more about his brand, the new Paris outpost, and his expansion plans for Workshop.

Felicity Carter: Tell us about your brand, and how it has evolved to date?

Lee Mullins: Workshop is a personal training and lifestyle company that specialises in creating highly individualised training, nutrition and lifestyle programs for our customers. The business began with a personal training gym housed within the Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, London and following the success of that gym we have now grown into a global brand with facilities in London, Paris, Milan, Bali, Dubai, Beijing and Shanghai. With the expansion of our gyms and growing demand from our customers we also expanded into producing nutrition products in the form of our range of organic nutritional supplements.

FC: Who is your client base?

Lee Mullins: For all of our gyms we don’t specialise in a particular demographic, we really work with such a wide range of clientele, from young to old, business people to authors, actors to singers, it’s a really diverse client base which makes our job so much more interesting as each client has such differing needs and demands.

FC: How long has this Paris outpost been in the making?

LM: Paris has been 4 years in the making, Covid-19 significantly delayed the opening but at the same time it allowed us more time to work on optimising the design of the gym and our offering in Paris.

FC: What’s the USP of this site?

LM: I believe there is no gymnasium in the heart of Paris that offers anywhere near the level of facilities we’re able to offer under one roof, from the private 25 metre pool, the private training studio for reformer pilates and yoga, infrared saunas and the main gym floor that has been designed with the best equipment in the world. We purposely designed the gym so that it would be suitable for someone at the very early stages of rehabilitating an injury all the way up to a superstar athlete like Lionel Messi, in fact, we have much of the same equipment from Keiser that you’ll find in the gym at Paris St. Germain’s training facility.

FC: What can we expect from it?

LM: The same as all of our facilities, programs that designed based off the data we see in a clients Framework Assessment, the unique series of body assessments we take every client through when they begin at Workshop, along with all of our signature training services that we offer at all of our locations, from one to one personal training, yoga, pilates, boxing and swimming. Clients will also have access to our collection of nutritional supplements, as well as all the supporting features and amenities of the beautiful Spa at the Bulgari Hotel, jacuzzis, hammams, infrared saunas, and more. Our offering has been designed to allow us to optimise a clients training and recovery in every way possible.

FC: How would you like your brand to further grow?

LM: We are working on a way where no matter where you are in the world there will be a way you can access or train with Workshop, one way this will be is through physical locations, and over the next 3 years we have 5 more new locations coming with Bulgari in Rome, Moscow, Tokyo, Miami and Los Angeles, and more and more will be announced in the near future, but outside of our partnership with Bulgari there are a number of other projects we are working on in the background. The other way people will be able to access the brand and our team of coaches is through a digital training platform that won’t be like anything you’ve seen available on the market currently.

We are also working on a number of other consumer products that will help people improve their sleep quality, as well as their workouts. One of those products is our set of mini strength bands, an easy to travel with training tool that we use within all of the Workshop gyms around the world, these will be launching in January and not only do you get the full set of mini strength bands, you’ll get access to an exclusive library of mini strength band exercises, as well as coaching tips when performing each of the exercises.

Outside of our physical gym expansion plans, bringing everything that we do in the gym, whether it’s our training programs, the equipment we use, the nutritional supplements our clients use to be easily accessible to the whole world is how we want the brand to grow.
