I love my shimmers, glitters and these days some colorful eyeshadows, but I’m all about browns and earth tones. These basic browns with a dash of peach and gold are my everyday eyeshadows. So I decided to treat myself and got the limited edition NARS Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette. The Nars website says this is your next big thrill. I went in to just purchase the eyeshadow palette, but came out with the eyeshadow palette, the blush quad and one multiple.
The Ulta website says “NARS Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette features nine matte, satin, shimmer and glitter shades inspired by iconic Orgasm, all in a limited-edition pink compact.”
Packaging Of The NARS Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette
I will not lie. What drew me to the palette first, apart from the shades, is the beautiful pale pink packaging. This palette has a nice sized mirror. Additionally the name of the brand is written on the front of the palette. I also think 9 eyeshadow shades in one palette is not overwhelming for me. Sometimes with too many shades, I don’t know where to begin. I also have two other NARS 9 pan eyeshadow palettes and love using them.

My Experience
These shades are your basic everyday neutral shades. The pink, copper and terracotta shades help you add a little pop of color to your looks. But it’s still not over the top. Moreover, I find it to be very work friendly. The shades are blendable and also buildable. You can create a look that is intense by building up the shades. Or you can choose to keep it light and simple by applying just a bit of color to your peepers.
Fall out from the shimmer shades is minimal. Also the mattes are very smooth. The shades last on my oily eyelids for at least eight hours. I always wear eyeshadow primer before I apply any eyeshadow. Agreed, I have similar shades in my collection, but I knew I was going to use each and every shade from this palette. All things considered, I see myself getting a lot of use out of this palette.
Bonus Swatches
This new 2022-2023 Orgasm Collection also has two multiple shades and one blush palette with four blushes. I swatched these at Ulta. Years ago, I had the orgasm multiple and it was just a glittery mess on my medium complexion. In contrast, I love the Orgasm liquid blush. But the powder blush and the multiple did not work for me, a few years back. Apart from the Orgasm Multiple, the other multiple in the collection is called Orgasm Rush and is a rosy bronze shade. These multiples can be worn on your eyes, lips as well as your cheeks.
The Orgasm Four Play Blush Quad has four shades. Swinger (golden shimmer), Orgasm (peachy pink with golden shimmer), Orgasm X (satin deep coral pink) and lastly Orgasm Rush (rosy bronze). I initially was not planning on purchasing this palette, because I already have two of the shades included in the palette. But the Orgasm blush included in this palette shows up on my medium skin and actually looks nice. Plus I liked all the other shades included as well. So I picked up the Blush Quad too.
All in all, except for the Orgasm Multiple, I picked up everything in this collection.
