Dangerous travel possible Saturday as snow squalls move across NH

Snow squall warning issued for parts of southern New Hampshire

Brief, bursts of snow cause near white-out conditions and slick roads

Thanks for watching a meteorologist, Jacqueline thomas heading through the afternoon and early evening hours saturday dealing with snow showers and even some snow squalls that quickly reduced visibility lead to blowing snow and strong gusty winds plus a quick slippery surface possible with that quick burst of heavy snow. But as we head through the nighttime hours, any of that does wind down so overnight as we head into the second half of the weekend, we actually get into a clearing sky again and some sunshine on the way, but it is going to be chilly as we head through the second half of the weekend too. So tonight temperatures drop back into the single digits across most of the States. Some spots up north could dip near or below zero through the night tonight, so a cold night expected. And as we head a little further south, some low teens possible overnight. Then tomorrow high temperatures struggle to really get much higher than that freezing mark. So upper twenties north to low thirties south in the state, but it does come with a good amount of sunshine overall. So it will be a bright and generally dry second half of the weekend. Beyond that, as we head through monday, it does look quiet and then it’s later Tuesday that we’re watching our next chance for some impact weather as we see a system approach and by then it’s also going to be a bit warmer to our temperatures are going to fluctuate up and down as we head through the coming week. So Tuesday we could look at some rain moving in but there could also be a little bit of mixing, especially north, where temperatures maybe just a little cooler that could continue into Wednesday morning and that may end as a little mixing up north to as colder air moves back in. But that’s something we’ll keep an eye on as we head through the coming day. So in the seven day forecast, as we head through sunday, A quiet day Monday for the holiday. Even warmer, we get back into the 40s with some of that sunshine and then we see that impact whether potential for later Tuesday or early Wednesday before clearing on Wednesday. And then another chance for some snow showers by the end of the week.
